Progressive Lenses

Progressive lenses are the modern, line-free alternative to traditional bifocals. Custom-engineered with a smooth visual gradient, they deliver clear distance vision at the top, intermediate near vision in the middle, and sharp reading vision at the bottom all in one elegant lens

What are progressive lenses and how do they work?

Progressive lenses are advanced multifocal optics designed for individuals with presbyopia (the natural age-related loss of near focus). Unlike old-school bifocals, progressives have no visible lines. Instead, they feature a seamless progression of magnifying power that mimics the natural movement of your eyes.

Why should I choose progressives over traditional bifocals?

Traditional bifocals create an immediate, sudden "image jump" when you look down, completely leaving out intermediate "arm's length" sight. Progressives solve this by adding a dedicated intermediate zone (perfect for viewing computer screens and car dashboards) while offering a youthful, line-free aesthetic.

Can I customize my progressives with screen and sun enhancements?

Yes, absolutely! Your progressive design handles your multi-distance prescription, but you can layer functional treatments on top. You can add specialized filters from our anti-glare, or light-adaptive tech from our photochromic lenses for outdoor convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to your most common questions

How long does it take to adapt to new progressive lenses?

Because progressives have a continuous gradient of power, there is a minor learning curve. Most users adapt within 2 to 14 days. We recommend putting them on first thing in the morning and wearing them consistently to help your eyes and brain map out the new viewing fields naturally.

Why do my progressive lenses feel slightly blurry on the very edges?

By geometric design, all progressive lenses feature mild soft focus fields along the lower outer edges. To look at objects to your side, simply turn your head slightly toward what you want to see rather than moving just your eyes.

Can I put a progressive prescription into small or narrow frames?

Progressive lenses require a minimum frame height (usually around 28mm–30mm) so that your eyes have enough room to pass smoothly through the distance, intermediate, and reading zones. If a frame is too short, the reading area at the bottom might get cut off.

Is it worth adding anti-glare or photochromic coating to progressive lenses?

Highly recommended! Progressive wearers usually keep their glasses on all day long for all tasks. Adding an anti-glare coating protects you during computer hours, while a photochromic coating removes the annoying chore of constantly switching to sunglasses when heading outside.
